In the heat of the summer night,
I lay awake on my bed
While the world is in deep slumber
The darkness that surrounds
Silhouette of the lines highlighted
By the full moon gaze
Random thoughts run through
Of forgotten past and future dreams
Those that I hate to remember
When it comes associated with you
More often than not,
It’s about looking straight ahead
Not turning back to see the footsteps behind me
To where I have been and should have
Or perhaps shouldn’t have been
Some may take everything in its stride
Probably brush it off
As a passing moment
But all in my own heart,
Every moment, even a fleeting one,
Has its own mark in time.
Just like you
Who came and went like the gust of wind
I can’t see it but I certainly felt it
That at one point in time,
I did fall in love,
Not knowing that you weren’t meant to stay.

A literal meaning by itself
For words that could speak for themselves
Have we not sometimes degrade
Unabashed by its state or manner
Alteration of hidden feelings tucked in a corner
Searching deep inside for what really matters
Train of thoughts embedded within intuition
Jaded illusion peppered with ignorance
Greyness with fading boundaries
Blinding the guarded territory
Love has brought upon us a malady
Disorganized pain in every sense
Yet we anticipate every inch of its moment
Just like sitting in a roller coaster…..

I am not looking for runaway model looks
But that’s an understatement -
The least is being presentable and clean cut
I am not looking for flashy bling blings
Just sufficient reserves to spend on occasional treats
Most of the time, we go back to cheap and nice
I am not looking for the intellectual brain of a genius
Witty remarks and engaging conversations keeps it going
Charm with words that are meaningful and sincere
I am not looking for dictated company around the clock
Give some space and be available at the right time
‘Absence makes the heart grows fonder’ will do the trick
I am not looking for neither a fatherly figure nor a dependent
It takes two to tango, two hands to clap
A good mix of trust and being understanding will see it going far
I am not looking for a fairytale love story
Just someone to walk through this life, hand in hand
Only time will know if there will be a ‘happily ever after’ –

Over the distance, over time
His presence will slowly erode
But at the back of her hand,
She will always know the route
and at a lil’ corner of this heart
A flicker of fire will always burn,
somewhere missin’, thinkin’ of his smile
She smiles in her subconscious
the blue sky, a bluer shade,
A fine tune that they both know
still hums in her world till tomorrow

tilt my head,
creases in horizon
pots of colors-blue, purple, crimson
